ABSTRACT:

The objective of the study is to find the significant relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement of high school students with reference to the Gender. Two tools were used in this study namely self-made Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire and for the Academic Achievement previous two year performances of sample students were studied. The significant difference was calculated by using Standard Deviation, t- test, Pearson’s Co-efficient Correlation. The finding revealed that females were found to be more emotionally intelligent than their male counterparts and also females were found to be academically better than the males. Also positive correlation was found between the emotional intelligence and academic achievement of students at high school level.
