ABSTRACT:

Research measuring teacher effectiveness suggests thatparticipants are representative of one-efficacy group. Of the few studies, which measures effectiveness as a multidimensional occurrence, teachers arepresented as having either low or high effectiveness. These studies often usemean or median splits to determine low and high effectiveness groups. What isof concern is whether there is a significant probability that those in the lowand high groups are actually representative of the data Further, a questionexists of whether teacher efficacy is statistically representative ofone-efficacy group or representative of more than two efficacy groups. UsingLatent Class Analysis (LCA), this study found that mathematics efficacy groupsof pre-service teachers vary based on where they were in their academicprogram.
