A Review on the Types of Organic Reactions in Water | Original Article

Mukta Sharma*, in Journal of Advances in Science and Technology | Science & Technology

ABSTRACT:

In recent years, water has proven to be a versatile solvent for organic chemistry. Water as a solvent is not only cheap and safe for the environment, but it also creates entirely new reactivity. Pericyclic reactions, carbanion equivalent reactions, carbocation equivalent reactions, radicals and carbene reactions, transitionmetal catalysis, and oxidations-reductions are just a few of the types of organic reactions in water that we will cover in this instructional review. Aqueous organic reactions have a wide range of applications, including the production of biological substances from carbohydrates and biomolecule chemical modification.
