ABSTRACT:

Researchers are contentious over the role of early specializations in the growth of sport skills. Although there are strong signs that preparation is related to a degree of skill, an emphasis on specific training was related to some detrimental effects during the early stage of the growth phase. Diversified engagement in a variety of sports in early growth phases was described as a theoretical solution to early specialization.
