ABSTRACT:

In higher education, the academic libraries are playing key role in acquiring and disseminating the information to the users. The main motto of any academic library is to fulfil the objectives of the academic institutions including Engineering and other colleges. After II world War, the explosion of information has occurred and lead to technology development. To manage such information, the management of Library Science is required in such a way that the present trend of E-resources by linking networks, the exploration of information, acquired, stored and disseminated. These are the main functions in Digital Environment. By means of E-resources, one can minimise the expenditure and get the information. The main aim of the paper is to know how the Engineering College library services are useful to the user community for acquiring information. Most of the engineering college libraries under my study are facing lack of technical staff in their respective engineering college libraries. Hence, the technical staff of engineering college libraries have to undergo training to update their knowledgeskills to handle the new technologyequipment in the present scenario.
