ABSTRACT:

Research in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) is increasing everyday resulting in voluminous publications which are multidisciplinary in nature. Preservation and conservation of library resources is a very important yet neglected area of study and research in LIS field. Therefore an attempt has been made to focus on the emerging trends of research in preservation and conservation to bring the facet into limelight. This study focuses on the current trend of research in the area of preservation and conservation in libraries in particular. Data have been extracted from the LISA, Scopus, J-Gate, Springer Link, Taylor Francis and Web of Science databases about the content of journal articles and conference papers of 2018. 47 articles are on this topic which is taken into account for study and analysis. It is also noted that some of the research in this field is interdisciplinary as the experiment based researches are conducted mainly in the field of Chemistry.
