SMEs are considered as the engine of growth of Bangladesh and it is expected as one of the important contributions to the economic empowerment of women. However, though participation of women in SME can ensure economic empowerment of women through employment generation and increased economic capacity, it also increases women’s responsibility and it creates a number of challenges for women due to the existing social structure of the society of the country. Therefore, the study aims to explore the challenges women face in SME to suggest relevant policy measures so that challenges can be mitigated.
