ABSTRACT:

The purpose of the present study was to measure the Emotional Intelligence among State and National level Handball Players of Nagpur Maharashtra. This is a survey study under Descriptive Research. For the study a total of 60 handball players has been taken purposively, in which 30 were State level Handball Players and rest 30 were National level handball players as the samples for the present study. For the collection of data the researcher administered the Emotional Intelligence scale of Anukool Hyde, Sanjyot Pethe and Upinder Dhar. After data collection, data of Emotional intelligence of State and National level Handball Players was compared by using Independent t test and the results were analysed and interpretations were drawn. The level of significance was kept at 0.05 to test the hypothesis. It was observed from the finding that the in all sub scales of Emotional intelligence there was no significant difference between State and National level Handball Players. Therefore the null hypothesis, there is no significant difference in Emotional intelligence between State and National level Handball Players is accepted. The mean scores of Emotional intelligence sub scales like Emotional Stability and Self-Motivation shows that National level Handball Players have high degree of emotional intelligence than State level Handball Players. Finally, Researcher concluded that National level Handball Players have better emotional intelligence than State level Handball Players. National level Handball Players were well aware about their emotions, self-worthy, Goal directed and sensitive as compare to State level Handball Players.
