ABSTRACT:

Academic achievement is concerned with the quantity and quality of learning attained in overall subjects after a long period of teaching. Academic achievement is an attained ability or degree of competence in school or college task, usually measured by standardized tests and expressed in grades or units based on norms derived from a vide sampling of students’ achievement. Yoga practice will help to improve academic achievement. Yoga, which is a way of life, is characterized by balance, health, harmony and bliss. Yoga practices like asanas, pranayama, kriyas and mudras are mostly taught as physical practices, while various meditation techniques work at the mental level. All these practices are intended to develop a certain type of awareness within oneself, which in turn brings about a change in emotional and intuitive functions, and through them, a change in intellectual and somatic functions of the individual takes place. The present paper explores the importance of yoga for college students to improve their academic achievement as well as wellbeing in their lives. It was found that college students are stressed and they need an exit from the stress and anxiety. To introduce yoga at college level as a form of stress relief and mental health to college students and determine best plans for the future of yoga for college students.
