ABSTRACT:

This paper gives an overall analysis of the advertisementof “Atkins Chocolate Chip Granola Bar” from the aspects of linguisticdescription (graph logical style markers, lexical style markers, syntacticstyle markers, grammatical style markers, and semantic style markers), textualanalysis (the layout and the paragraph development, cohesive devices) andcontextual analysis (medium of communication and role-relationship) by theapplication of modern linguistic theory and stylistic analysis pattern in orderto find out the general stylistic characteristics of commercial advertisements.This paper can help readers better understand and appreciate the language ofEnglish advertisements.
