ABSTRACT:

The73rd and 74th Amendments to the Constitution of India presented 33% quota forwomen in neighborhood self-government institutions. These Amendments actualizedin 1993, made 1,000,000 slots for chosen women representatives. Subsequently,all major national political parties voiced their support for women's quotas instate legislatures and parliament and the Women's Reservation Bill to thatimpact was presented in the Parliament in 1996. The Bill has gottencontroversial throughout the previous nine years. Because of the serious flawsin the Bill, even the genius women's quota elements also find it challenging tosupport it. Be that as it may some women's groups have received anexceptionally inflexible position in support of the Bill, for all intents andpurpose treating it as sacrosanct and non- debatable. This paper assesses thepart of women's groups in the quota face off regarding and suggests futurestrategy for successfully arranging the issue.
