ABSTRACT:

The purpose of the study was tofind out the effects of varied packages of plyometric training on selectedphysical fitness components and physiological variables among college menstudents. To achieve this purpose of the study, sixty untrained healthy collegemen students of Sitapur Engineering Institute Sitapur (U.P) were selected assubjects at random and their age were ranged between 18 to 23 years. Theselected subjects were divided in to four equal groups of thirty subjects each.Group I underwent low intensity plyometric training, Group II underwent mediumintensity plyometric training and Group III underwent high intensity plyometrictraining for three days per week for twelve weeks. Group IV acted as controlthat did not participate in any special training programme apart from theirregular activities as per their curriculum. The following physical fitness components and physiological variablesnamely speed and leg explosive power, vo2 max and anaerobic power were selectedas dependent variables.  All the subjectsof four groups were tested on selected dependent variables at prior to andimmediately after the training programme. The analysis of covariance was usedto analyze the significant difference, if any among the groups. Since, threegroups were compared, whenever the obtained ‘F’ ratio for adjusted post testwas found to be significant, the Scheffe’s test to find out the paired meandifferences, if any. The .05 level of confidence was fixed as the level ofsignificance to test the ‘F’ ratio obtained by the analysis of covariance, which was considered as an appropriate. . The result of the study indicates dueto varied packages of plyometric training speed, explosive power, vo2 max andanaerobic power has been improved significantly.
